I really enjoy this time of the year, not because of the blustery and very cold weather, but because of my immediate family's birthdays.  Daughter Sarah starts us off on December 28th.  My birthday follows a week later on January 3rd.  We then catch a breather until Lynne's birthday on February 20th (that's today... Happy Birthday Sweetie), and Joshua follows on February 25th.  What a time of celebration.
This is also the time of year when I celebrate my "re-birthday" on January 24th.  What do I mean by "re-birthday" you ask?  That was when I had my "re-birth" experience... the day I repented of my sins and asked Jesus to come and live in my heart forever.  It was the day that I realized that I didn't want to live another day without Him in it, guiding me through it.  Although the Lord has been steadfast in His guidance, I have not always been so steadfast in my following.  But, what a journey it has been... I wouldn't trade it for the world.
What about you?  What is your story?  What about your "re-birthday"?  Do you celebrate it?  Have you ever told anyone about it?  Do you remember the date and place?  Was it at home, work, or maybe at camp?  What did you feel?  What did you experience?  In talking with folks over the years about their "re-birth" experience, I have discovered that there are similarities and unique differences.  I would love to hear about yours... and I am willing to bet that others would be interested to hear your story also.  Nicodemus shared his with John so that it could be shared with the world in his gospel... you know it, when he talked with Jesus in the garden, alone, at night.  It was just as transformational for him as it was for you.  I invite you to share your testimony with me and with others.
Until next time, keep the faith... and remember, Jesus' return is another day closer... just like Spring.
